Karen & Karen ... ARTISTIC INSPIRATION FOR THE CREATIVE SPIRIT

One of the highlights of my trip to the Atlanta Americas Mart was crossing paths with artist and designer, Karen Rossi, who was exhibiting at the show.  I have long collected her fabulous Fanciful Flights metal characters. It was certainly fun chatting again with this witty and talented artist.

Karen Rossi and I met in 2005 when I was walking the Surtex show. Karen had one of the brightest, most whimsical and colorful booths. While exhibiting at shows,  Karen would dress in costumes to match the characters she had designed. Who could forget someone dressed as a mermaid? It's easy be inspired by her determination and to appreciate the passion she has for her work.

Karen is best known for her original metal sculptures known as Fanciful Flights. One of Karen's most successful endeavors was her contract with Silvestri. Within two years of the initial release of 12 three-dimensional metal characters for that company, retail sales of Karen Rossi's Fanciful Flights™ by Silvestri® topped $30 million annually.  Karen continues to license her work and create new programs for her Fanciful Flights.

You can see how Karen creates her unique sculptures on this video:                 http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=rlhlsw#p/f/0/SmQ6p29_p2Q
or visit her website and learn more about the New England, narrative designer at:  http://www.karenrossi.com/

For every artist that has a dream and the enthusiasm to succeed , Karen Rossi's journey is certainly one that can inspire the best of us to achieve our artistic dreams and goals. Connecting with other artists along our path as we fearlessly leap toward our creative goals empowers our creative spirits.
